EarlySteps

EarlySteps provides services to families with infants and toddlers aged birth to three years (36 months) who have a medical condition likely to result in a developmental delay, or who have developmental delays. Children with delays in cognitive, motor, vision, hearing, communication, social-emotional or adaptive development may be eligible for services.

Easterseals created the Make the First Five Count program to raise awareness for kids at risk for developmental delays, autism and other disabilites. On MaketheFirstFive Count.org,  you can find resources like the Ages and Stages Questionnaires®, a free, online screening tool for parents to track their child's developmental milestones.

Eligibility

Children with medical conditions likely to cause disability or developmental delay, or with delays,or with delays in the following areas, may be eligible:

  • Physical Development (crawling, walking, seeing, hearing)
  • Cognitive Development (learning skills or problem solving)
  • Social and Emotional Development (playing with others, showing feelings)
  • Adaptive Development (feeding, getting dressed)
  • Communication (listening, talking, expressing oneself)

Easterseals Louisiana has SPOE Offices in Region 1 (New Orleans) and Region 8 (Monroe). Region 1 services Orleans, St.Bernard, and Plaquemines parishes. Region 8 services Madison, Tensas, Franklin, Richland, East Carroll, West Carroll, Morehouse, Union, Lincoln, Jackson, Caldwell, and Ouachita parishes.
