Dr. Mary Cole-Bush is a seasoned education leader and school psychologist with over two decades of experience in public education, special education administration, and mental health services. She has been a dedicated member of the ReNEW Schools charter network in New Orleans since 2011, serving in a variety of leadership roles. She currently serves as the Chief of Student Support Services, where she leads network-wide efforts to ensure equitable access to special education, behavioral health, and intervention services. In this executive leadership role, she oversees compliance systems and forges strategic partnerships to support students with exceptional needs.
Dr. Cole-Bush holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology with a specialization in School Psychology, a Master of Science in Educational Psychology, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, all from Mississippi State University. She also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mississippi Valley State University.
Her career spans from teaching English and developing college-level curriculum to directing pupil appraisal and clinical service teams, with deep expertise in Section 504, IDEA compliance, trauma-informed care, and inclusive instructional practices.
A parent of an individual with disabilities, Dr. Cole-Bush brings a deeply personal understanding of the importance of comprehensive, compassionate, and community-based support. Her lived experience fuels her commitment to the Easterseals mission and amplifies her advocacy for high-quality, person-centered services for people with disabilities across Louisiana.
